STEP 1
The first step towards rebranding The Judith Beard Collection is understanding the history and focus of the company.
Today we met with Brooke Ring, who was able to inform us about the company's history, goals, and challenges.
STEP 2
After deciding that the name of the company needed to change, our class collectively decided on these alternatives
STEP 3
Our group created a powerpoint to document our goals while working on this project
STEP 4
Our groups have now split up and are encouraged to work individually. After handwriting the word "jude" upwards of 100 times, this is what I have come up with
STEP 5
After being placed in new groups, we created a mood board to showcase our chosen color scheme, logos, logo variations, icons, and patterns.
STEP 6
After revision, we decided to thicken the Jude logo and clean it up a bit. We also tailored our bee to fit the calligraphy design of the logo and changed the color blue to a sage green. We felt the pink and blue was a little too nursery-esque for this brand.
STEP 7
Judith came to class last week. My group was selected to present our ideas, which includes introducing the new name Jude, selecting packaging, the French bee, and color scheme.
STEP 8
After hearing Judith's feedback, we got to work on changing the design. We changed the logo from the scripted logo to a serif font and had the script as a background or secondary logo
STEP 9
Next we updated the bee. Judith really wanted a more ornate French bee with a modern twist.
STEP 10
We decided we wanted to add a floral design in the inside of the packaging as well as for a design for the website.
STEP 11
After collecting the basic features (logo, design, and symbol) we were able to start designing the packaging. We wanted different colors to represent the different lines and products of the Jude collection.
STEP 12
After creating the packaging, we decided to include an "insert card" to include more information about the product you bought as well as more products in the same line. These colors will correspond with the signature colors on the packaging.
STEP 13
Our next step was to take all of these staples and create an advertisement with them. We wanted to continue the natural aspect of the company while still looking luxurious and fun.
STEP 14
Next, we created a mock up website to show Judith what these products and deliverables would like like cohesively online.
You can find the website here
STEP 15
Finally, we organized all of the information into a presentation to show Judith. She loved the designs and is excited to move forward with what we have done!

MOOD BOARD: THE JUDITH BEARD COLLECTION
Finding images that relate to The Judith Beard Collection is important in the rebranding process. Here are some that I find relate to what The Judith Beard Collection is all about:
HISTORY OF THE COMPANY
After Judith's dear friend was diagnosed with cancer, she decided to make her some homemade bath salts as a comforting gift. It was almost overnight that all of Judith's friends were asking for some of her homemade bath salts too! That's when Joe, Judith's husband, decided it would be a great business opportunity.
The Judith Beard Collection originally started in 2003 as a Bath and Body company, selling Bath Salts, Body Washing, Lotions and Perfumes.
The Judith Beard collection has since expanded into 3 sub brands:
WHAT IS THE JUDITH BEARD COLLECTION?
The Judith Beard Collection is a complex company to describe. The goodhearted nature of the owners, Judith and Joe, is what lays at the heart of this skincare brand. All natural, handmade products are what is going to give this company the most success in their journey!
